Latham & Watkins represented Relentless Inc. and two affiliated New England fishing companies in Relentless v. Department of Commerce, the companion case to Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo. Latham partner Roman Martinez, working alongside the New Civil Liberties Alliance, used that fee dispute to ask the Supreme Court to overrule Chevron v. NRDC, the 40-year-old precedent requiring courts to defer to federal agencies' reasonable interpretations of ambiguous laws.
